Consulting and Training for Yoga Studios with Tara

How I work with studios…

My work with studios is flexible and fully customized to each studio’s needs,

and can be offered as individual services, short-term projects, or ongoing

advisory support. I partner with studios to strengthen teaching quality,

instructor skill, and studio culture, helping create internal clarity that supports

stronger student retention, healthier teaching teams, and long-term

sustainability.

Menu of options

These are ways we typically help studios. Again everything is fully customizable.

Every studio is different. Engagements are customized based on the needs,

stage of growth, and overall vision for what what is being created.

  • Group sessions for teaching teams focused on building teaching skills and shared standards. Topics may include cueing, hands-on adjustments, anatomy, skillful use of music, theming beyond the poses, and room management. These sessions also create space for instructors to connect, reflect on their craft, and feel supported, strengthening team cohesion and loyalty to the studio. Sessions are typically two hours and often offered quarterly.

  • Personalized mentor feedback based on a live or recorded class observation. We work together to see how the teacher can improve as well as facilitate what they are trying to facilitate best.

Studios often choose to schedule six to ten teacher reviews per quarter.

  • A structured review of current teaching quality across the studio, identifying strengths, gaps, and clear next steps for improvement for the overall team.

  • Guidance on establishing clear studio culture, standards, and practical “how-tos” for instructors, supporting a welcoming, connected studio experience where both students and teachers feel invested and engaged.

  • Support in refining class offerings and schedules to better match student demand, teacher strengths, and studio capacity, helping improve attendance and retention.

  • Support in designing, refining, or expanding 200- and 300-hour Yoga Teacher Trainings, including curriculum structure, educational standards, teaching methodology, and alignment with the studio’s mission and teaching culture.

These trainings are often used as meaningful cash injections that support the studio’s overall financial sustainability.

  • Support for teacher auditions and guidance for studios refining their hiring process, including audition structure, expectations, and evaluation criteria.

How I Help Studios…

What I bring to studios is over 15 years of experience as a yoga teacher, lead Yoga Teacher Training facilitator, yoga mentor, and dance educator. I’ve guided teachers and studios at every stage of their development, from teaching first classes to refining long-term, sustainable careers.

I completed my first 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Yogaview in Chicago and never looked back. Since then, I’ve taught advanced vinyasa classes in Austin, worked with 55+ communities, offered Iyengar-based yoga for dancers, taught music-driven yoga classes in New York City, and served as a lead teacher in Boulder, Colorado. These experiences eventually led me to launch Tesni Yoga and step into my work as a yoga mentor and consultant.

In addition to teaching, I’ve built multiple brands across dance companies, corporate entertainment, and yoga businesses. This work is supported by a degree in visual art and a deep passion for branding, clarity, and intentional design.

I love supporting teachers and studio owners in raising the quality of what they offer through thoughtful work on teaching technique, instructor development, studio culture, branding, and mission clarity.

When teaching quality is consistently high and the studio experience feels intentional, it naturally supports full classes, stronger student retention, and long-term business sustainability, while still preserving depth, creativity, and genuine human connection.

  • "Tara's feedback to teachers is gold. She has the perfect blend of being compassionate as well as useful. She is a master at pulling out teachers' innate gifts. We are so grateful to her for helping our team."

    Sonia A.

  • "So glad we brought Tara on! We didn't know how great our teaching group could be until she came and supported us in elevating what was great already! She brought out the best in all of our teachers and helped them truly shine. The students tell us what a difference there is now! Thanks Tara!"

    Helena B.

  • "Tara helped our teachers gain missing skills in particular in sequencing and cueing, leading to more confidence, fuller classes, and a more lively, successful studio.”

    Monique S.

  • "The quarterly team trainings were a game changer for us. What it did is help build community for the teachers (while they also practiced important skills like hands on adjustments) and this helped the studio have a more connected and steady community. I know the students feel how connected the teachers are to each other now."
